Luo

Luo

Luo is a cool, calm, and quick thinking character. The son of a famous dentist, who bragged of having worked on Chairman Mao's teeth, is accused of being a reactionary for having committed the sin of suggesting that the Chairman was not perfect. He is faced with many difficult situations with the narrator, and he works his way out of them or captures a mood of the listeners through speaking with all of his abilities. Luo is bold, a brilliant orator, and fantastic storyteller.  His main goal through out the story is to culturize the little seamstress.  At the end of the novel, his idea of teaching the little seamstress how to read and become a city-girl comes back and ends up breaking their relationship.
