This was a scene that was seen in three different perspectives: Luo's,
the miller's, and the seamstress's. Originally, the story was told by
the miller to the narrator. He describes this scene of two figures
entwined in a pool. He was stunned by this display of affection. He
soon feels that the boy was familiar, and after some thought, he ascertains
that this person was the fake interpreter that accompanied the narrator
on his visit. The next perspective is from Luo, who originally explains about
his
keyring that carries everything important in his life. It has his
old house keys and even the key they used to break into Four-Eyes's
secret suitcase. He then proceeds to explain the game that the Seamstress and him played. He threw his keys and watched her
breathtaking body dive into the pool of water. He then explains that
these keys were lost one day, during the game. The next perspective was
explained by the seamstress. She explained the same thing that Luo did,
with the game that they played. She also explains how she lost the
keys, which usually were relatively simple to find. She dove down to
search for them. After putting her hand of something slick, she
realizes that it's a snake, something that she has always had a fear
of. Fearing the consequences of losing the keys, she dives down to find
them, but to come up with only a snake bite to show for it.
