The two characters met the
Little Chinese Seamstress as they went to meet their old friend Four-Eyes. First, they met her
father as he was going away to tailor for one of his clients. A few weeks later, Luo and the narrator returned to the house and met the Seamstress, who they asked to lengthen Luo's trousers by five centimeters. After that she invited them to stay for boiled water, and then Luo made a bet with her that there were similar. He won the bet, and she extended his trousers for free. On the way home, Luo denies that he had
fallen in love with the Seamstress.
