    When they first meet the Little Chinese Seamstress, her beauty immediately catches Luo the Narrator's eye. "She had a glowing complexion and her features were fine, almost noble. Her face possessed an impressive, sensual beauty, which aroused in us an irresistible desire to stay and watch her work..." Although Luo says "She's not civilized, at least not enough for me!",  it is clear that he and the Narrator both are captivated by her.
    Later on, we see, Luo does something about the seamstress's lack of civility and reads to her samples of Western literature. How? Why with the help of their friend Four-Eyes. Although, he does make them jump through some metaphorical flaming hoops to get them....
