Many characters in the story did not have real name. The had labels or nicknames. Some of these for instance was Four Eyes, the Little Seamstress, and the narrator. We only know the three symbols of the narrator's name. Luo is the only character who has a real name. This could be because he was one of the most important characters or maybe it is just a coincidence. Not many books do not use real names for their characters. This makes Balzac and The Little Chinese Seamstress unique.
