Dinner
They kept it up for many days, long enough for one season to turn into another one, until Marco had his idea.
“Why don’t we have a few people over?” he asked when they were all accidentally home at the same time. They had cooked spaghetti to celebrate this coincidence. Margo, Hedda and Colin twirled pasta around their forks and looked at each other. Finally Margo took a stab at her last meatball and said “okay.” Marco beamed.
“But nothing big,” she added, “because I don’t like those things where every flat surface has a beer can on it by the end.”
“I know just how you feel,” Marco said, “and you guys can definitely censor the email list.”
