Ahhh, Motherhood!

The joke was one me. Motherhood is everything it's cracked up to be. What a surprise! I never wanted to be a mother, but my husband and I made a deal - if I would agree to have children, he would agree to have a dog. I never did get the dog, but I have two great children (most of the time).

Stupid me - I let my husband out of his obligation to let me get a dog!  That is one of the biggest regrets of my life.  I know it sounds melodramatic, but I REALLY want a dog, and so do my kids.  At the time I let him out of his promise he was freaking out; "What if the dog gets sick, what if the dog throws up on the rug, what if the dog poops in the house . . .".  My husband is also quite frugal (to put it gently) and the idea of having to buy dog food and medicines, let alone vet bills was putting him over the edge.  I finally said to myself, my marriage is more important than a dog.  Silly me.
