Even as the doctor had Bilbo’s mouth opened, his eyes fell upon fine silk threads that crisscrossed all over. For some time nothing happened. It is rather unclear, at this point, as to why Sid would want to delay his dash to safety – Maybe he was shy of strangers or maybe he wanted a bit of drama and waited for the drums to roll - whatever it was…he dived, having let couple of seconds pass with the doctor staring agape into Bilbo’s mouth. He landed right onto the doctor’s nose and in another moment had
disappeared from everyone’s sights.
