The Wait
What would have seemed to last only a couple of hours turned to days and days to weeks, but our friend, Bilbo, showed no signs of resignation. In the meantime, Sid had stepped down to business and had spun out for himself an intricate, strong and beautiful web. He spent daylong inspecting each strand of silk and would get down to repairing or reinforcing the weaker portions of the structure – which would not only be his home but also a tool that would procure food – thanks to Bilbo’s extravagant diet.
