2. In what ways can real world connections be made to the fiction that Fitzgerald portrays in his novels?
When you read the book The Great Gatsby you get a glimpse of what life was during the 1920s. In the book women were looked upon as people who were finacially and socially dependent on men. They were looked upon as liars and were not to be trusted. While in reality women were going through a period of time in which women started creating an equal image. Women in the 1920s were starting to take a stand for themselves and stopped taking a back seat to men. During the 1920s women were starting to get equal rights. In 1920 the law was passed giving women the right to vote by the 19th amendment.
