Conclusion

Once again, Nick lay in bed with thoughts swarming his mind. He thought about the deaths of Daisy and Gatsby as well as the tragic fates of Tom and Myrtle Wilson. At first, Nick felt sorry for them. Then, he realized that the fates of his friends that summer were direct results of their relaxed morals and focus on material possessions. Nick no longer mourned for his friends. In the back of his mind, he always knew their lavish lifestyle would catch up with them.
