Chapter 9 - The Great Gatsby



 
The 1920's was also known as the Roaring 20's. Many advances in technology were made and people had an excessive amount of money due to the thriving stock market. Unfortunately, the 1920's is also know for the generation it bred, or the "Lost Generation" as it has come to be known by.

     The name, "Lost Generation", refers to the fact that many people were living without purpose and meaning and even more had lost their sense of morals. It is these traits of the 1920's that are prevalent throughout the book, "The Great Gatsby".
